Hi! I’m Louise!

Sustainability and Style.  Together. Imagine that.

I guide women to find their style and confidence in dressing.

The appeal of working with clothes as for me - and may appeal to you as well - comes from understanding how much our choices around clothes are an important part of how we treat the earth, and ensure sustainability for the next generation. All of this meshes with finding your style, and “shopping first” at home, which means making the most of what we already have.

Then we consider utilizing re-purposed, recycled and sustainably made clothing. There is a broad spectrum of choices in this marketplace.

When buying new clothes, it is now possible to use an app on your phone to find out about sustainability ratings of different brands.

Clothes that don’t really contribute to your style can be donated for someone else to use; there are wonderful organizations now that can help you sell or contribute unused clothes, with convenient mail-in options.

I am a keen observer of women, fashion trends, and how women feel about the clothes they wear. There are so many connections and lost connections there: If a woman is comfortable and confident, her clothes will suddenly become fashionable, no matter their provenance. If a woman is not entirely at ease in her clothes (and what woman is always at ease?) it shows, and no expenditure on the latest fashion will hide that. I love to connect the dots between women, their clothes, and their feeling about their clothes.

With my clients we go through a process of looking at their clothes and get a feeling of what works doesn’t work. Then, we work on re-combining parts, accessorizing, and seeing what might need to be discarded. Adding some specific new pieces may be suggested to “finish” a look.

Photography can capture what we come up with. This is a powerful tool.

In the process, you may find that little black top that perfects your look from a second-hand store, completing another cycle of use.

My fashion philosophy is this:

  • Fit: If it doesn’t fit your style or your body, the clothes will wear YOU.

  • Simplicity: Less is more, so maximize your style with a few items that are living in your closet.

  • Style: And lastly, embrace the world with your own personal style. Whether you like funky, traditional, BoHo, athleisure, or elegant wear - wear it with confidence. If you do not know your style, it’s okay, I’m here to help!

So let’s have some fun while we work together to Find Your Style.
